The diary of a Runner's quest towards the Beijing Olympics!

Back on the HORSE
G'day so another week has come and gone. I can't believe how fast time seems to fly. I'm still thinking back to my New Years eve partying and all of a sudden January is nearing its end. So I'm happy to say that I've completed a solid week of training since coming back from my minor big toe stain.
I don't know if you (the readers) enjoys me posting my actual training as a sample of a typical week, like I did a couple of entries ago, or just rather read my general thoughts/feelings. So feedback would be great. In the meantime I'll post my training straight out of my log for this past week.

Week's Total Mileage: 112.50 (avg: 16.08 miles per day)

All in all I'd say it was a good week, especially since it was my first FULL week back to training without any little niggles to think about. Both workouts on Tues & Sat went better than the last time we did them. The 3 mile Tempo on Tuesday is on a very tough course (hence the overall "slow" avg mile pace). It's a beast climb for about 2,000 meters, where the entire workout can easily be lost if started too quickly.
That's more or less for this week. Things are starting to click again, and I'm positive in my mind frame and outlook towards the next few months. The plan is still on for a possible trip to New Zealand for a "head start" on the outdoor season. We shall see how this next 3-4 weeks go, before a decision is made though.
This current week that I'm on (will post more about it once it's completed next Sat/Sun), is already off to a good start. I completed my 20 mile long run today in 1hour56mins and change ("change" = a few seconds over the 56 minute mark). It went well and a lot faster than I had planned. Maybe it had to do with the 57 degrees and sun we had out!

Till the next time...

Peace & Love
